So here we are, we made it. We're over 50 and life didn't come to an end! When I started this "Women Over 50 Photo Session" campaign I was hoping just to help people feel better about where they are in their journey. But I also hope that some of us will get inspired, let go of those labels and unrealistic expectations and choose to live our best lives. This is just the beginning of a great journey.
So then, let me introduce you to Karen! Karen is definitely living her best life after 50. She is a sixty-two year-old mother of 4, and proud grandma of 6, and she is not going to let the grass grow under her feet. She recently landed the best job of her life and is traveling around the US seeing places and meeting people that she never thought would be possible. When she isn't traveling for work, she is enthusiastic about gardening, hunting, her card club gals, spending time with her grand kids and you might even see her at a craft show selling her seasonal hand-crafted decorations and gifts. She was eager to get these images done, and we both had a blast doing it!!
When I asked her what her thoughts were on being this age she said, "Time becomes even more precious when we realize the days behind us are more than the ones ahead. What better time to chase those dreams we've always had? It is within ourselves, we can create the opportunities, take the chances and do the things that make us happy!"
So, look in the mirror, like who you see, and go do what makes YOU happy, be a little selfish, why not? I recently heard a motivational speaker say, "you're never too old to wake up and be who you want to be." So, let's do it! Be your best you, it's not too late!
