So this is it, you've spent 18 years preparing for this moment. Your baby is graduating!! But wait a minute, when they were born you couldn't wait to get those JCPenny Portraits so that you could line every wall in your house with these beautiful humans that you created. So what happened? Somewhere along the way we stopped getting them printed, maybe because of how easy it is to get a million digital images on our phones, or because they shy away every time they see lenses pointing at them, or maybe we simply just got lazy about it. Whatever the reason is, you have this gallery of beautiful images of your child documenting the biggest transitional year in their life so why are they still tucked away as digital images in your computer?
I miss my babies, and sometimes looking at their old portraits actually makes me feel grief over the loss of those little people that made my heart so full. I truly miss them every day! But now it's time to celebrate, time to adorn the walls and shelves with the faces of who they've become, time to be proud and be reminded that I did it, I raised adults!!! They aren't perfect, and they have a long way to go, but I'm proud of who they are and they certainly deserve to be on display every single day!
So that's it, get those digitals turned into keepsakes. Sure, they aren't as cute as they were 18 years ago, but that's OK! Those are still the faces that will make you feel warm and fuzzy no matter how old they are. And CONGRATULATIONS, you did a great job!! You've managed to raise an adult. That is no small feat my friend!
